From Group Chat to Real Life: What Really Happened at S.a.S

An image detailing the highlights of the S.a.S event

Beyond the fun, the pictures, those enlightening sessions, the jobs people landed, and the friends made, something deeper happened at the Skills and Sourcing event in Port Harcourt.

If you’ve been following our blog, Substack, or any of our social media pages, you’ll remember we told you this event was going to empower and drastically change the game for digital skills enthusiasts.

So…
Did we deliver on that promise?
How exactly did it all go down?
And now that S.a.S 1.0 has come and gone, what’s next from Creaitz?

Sit tight. Because today, hand in hand, we’re diving into all of that.

First, S.a.S Was More Than a Meetup

The S.a.S Porth Harcourt event made us realize that there’s indeed a different kind of magic that happens when a community moves from the comment sections and WhatsApp groups to meeting and connection in real life.

And that’s what we witnessed at S.a.S in Port Harcourt.

From the moment the doors opened at Silicon Delta Hub, you could feel it; the energy was real.

Some were hugging like they’d known each other for years (when in reality, it was mostly profile pictures and fire emojis in group chats before that day).

There were also side glances of “Wait… you’re the one that dropped that voice note?”

And more than anything, people were intentional about coming over to network and making new connections, people didn’t walk in like strangers, they were genuinely thrilled to meet people they’d always chatted with online.

It wasn’t just not just that, everyone was passionate about making bonds with the top industry voices that we had over.

And did they?

Absolutely!

And even in the process, several people got monetary gifts from some of our speakers, like KarlaGod of Borderless, and several others as well.

There were no boring speeches, no forced networking.

Everyone came as they were, and just as promised, they all left with clarity, priceless connections.

So, How Did It Go Down?

An image showing attendees at the S.a.S event.

The truth is nobody knew exactly what to expect.

Of course, we planned for the event, we hyped it, even counted down to it (our volunteers performed extraordinarily well here, a big shout-out to them)

However, S.a.S 1.0 turned out to be something even we couldn’t fully predict.

The people walked in early and even stayed glued to the end!

Really, that’s big.

It’s customary for attendees to leave an event just a few hours, maybe after they got bored or just didn’t get the energy they needed, but people stayed till the end.

Even though we were supposed to end the event by 3, we ended up finishing by 4, people still waited, and the hall was filled to the brim!

But the people stayed

Not for the designs, but because of the values!

Right from the start of the event, there was energy, name tags came out, and volunteers clicked into action. People took selfies with the S.a.S backdrop, content creators were doing walk-throughs, and everywhere was already buzzing.

Then came the sessions.

It wasn’t that regular “talk at them till they clap” vibe; the panels were raw, honest, and practical.

From freelancing to community building, crypto to Web3, every speaker came fully prepared to impact.

They shared personal experiences, dropped gems, called out real-life mistakes to avoid, and even broke down money-making strategies in ways that felt almost too generous.

And while we couldn’t eventually carry out the onsite resume review, due to time, we fulfilled that promise by creating a special community for this, and we’ve helped attendees review and revamp their resumes accordingly.

We didn’t just stop after that; we’ve gotten several attendees into job positions in several top brands in the country

Over 430 people showed up. That’s not a typo.

Over 430 people benefited, and over 430 lives were exposed to job and profitable networking opportunities.

So yeah, if you weren’t there, you really did miss out.

What Are People Saying?

Honestly, we could go on and on about how powerful the event was, but it will be much better if you hear it from the people who were there and affected.

Attendees, volunteers, and even speakers left with something worth remembering, and they didn’t hold back from sharing.

From the excitement to gratitude to outright FOMO for those who missed it, here’s what the streets had to say:

Munah Mattson

The energy? Electric.
The speakers? Unfiltered icons.
The vibes? Louder than a TikTok trend gone viral.

The Money Panel wasn’t just about cash—it was about power, purpose, and playing the Web3 game smart. We’re talking Crypto. DeFi. Forex. Digital IDENTITY. And the panelists?
They ate and left no crumbs.

It’s literally the best web3 / crypto event I’ve attended.

Whew! Where do I even begin? The Skills and Sourcing event hosted by Creaitz was everything I hoped for and way more than I expected. I walked in curious, but I walked out inspired, educated, and fully charged up for the digital future.

From tech to entrepreneurship, content creation to freelancing, the stories shared were powerful reminders that starting small doesn’t mean staying small. It was amazing to see how many young people are building skills, seizing opportunities, and making a real impact in their own unique ways.

Beyond the panel sessions and keynotes, the networking was one of the highlights for me. Meeting people who are not just passionate but also intentional about growth was refreshing. Conversations flowed easily, ideas were exchanged, and meaningful connections were made.

The event was impactful, knowledgeable, and fun.
From Keynote speakers to panel sessions, every bit of it was remarkable.
I’m glad and honored to be a part of the volunteering team that brought this event to life.

Now, what’s Next?

If you thought S.A.S 1.0 in Port Harcourt was where it ends, then you don’t know us well enough.

We are just getting started, S.A.S. is growing, and it’s growing really fast.

So, what are the next steps?

Lagos. Ibadan. Other cities are in the pipeline before the year runs out.

We’re building momentum, and if you’re anywhere in Nigeria, there’s a big chance you’ll see us live very soon.

But it doesn’t stop there.

Our vision is already stretching beyond borders. Rwanda, Kenya, Ghana, we’re not just coming, we’ve already started laying solid foundations.

Our communities in these countries are alive and active, and also, training is already underway.

Our goal is to replicate what we’re doing in Nigeria across Africa.

We’ve seen what happens when young people are equipped with the right skills and the right opportunities. So yes, we’re not backing down.

Check out what our founder has to say about our next steps for S.A.S here.

As always, we’ll continue offering free trainings here in Nigeria, starting with the Community Management Training that’s already live (yeah, the link is out!).
